Context
eLounge is CIC's responsive banking platform. It combines monitoring, payments and trading in a single interface and offers a wide range of functionality, from checking accounts and movements to settings for both private and company users. One of its newest features is multibanking, which lets users monitor and make payments from other banks inside eLounge.
Challenge
The new platform had to cover almost everything a banking customer might want to do, at any time. The challenge was to decide which features to bring into eLounge and how to structure them, from simple account and transaction views to multibanking and rights management for private and company users, without making the product feel complicated.
My role
[One or two sentences in "I" language, for example: "I worked on [flows or modules] across web and mobile, ran usability tests and took part in client workshops."]
Solution and process
We put the user at the center and used a Design Thinking approach, because we needed to understand users and stakeholders, define the core problems, generate and develop alternatives, and validate ideas with users step by step. Understand: research and interviews with users and stakeholders, summarized in a user journey and emotion map. Define: workshops with the team and the client to agree on the core problems and the features to prioritize. Ideate: exploring alternatives for how each feature could fit the platform. Prototype and test: prototypes tested with users in several phases. These phases were key to making a platform built for its users.
Add the decisions that shaped the final experience.
Outcome
With a project this complex, we were convinced of the platform's quality, reliability and usability, and it went on to win an award at Best of Swiss Apps 2020. Visual: award badge or logo, if you have the right to use it.
Next steps
A dark "neon" version was discussed as the next step. Here's a sneak peek of how it could look. Two or three sentences, for example what you'd do differently, or what you learned about designing for such a wide range of features.]
